Special Education
The purpose of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is to ensure that all children with disabilities have available to them a free appropriate public education that includes special education and related services to meet their unique needs. State and federal laws require teachers and administrators to work together with parents to create individualized education plans for children with disabilities. Students, who are identified as having a disability, must meet the criteria on one of the following areas:

Deaf-Blindness Other Health Impairment
Developmental Delayed Specific Learning Disabilities
Emotional Disability Speech and Language Impairment
Hearing Impairment Traumatic Brain Injury
Intellectual Disability Visual Impairment
Multiple Disabilities
